Cake smash (kind of) in Lawrence, KS.

It doesn't seem possible that these cuties could be turning 1 & 2.  It seems like just yesterday I was meeting them for the first time and they were only 3 mos. old and almost 1!  Like I said below, the outside part of this shoot was questionable because of the weather.  The inside part was supposed to be the easy and predictable part.  What's easier than a cake smash?  You put the cake in front of the kiddo and let them tear into it while shooting away.  Well, we did get some adorable shots, but they weren't having any part of the "smash".  Mia neatly picked the little candies off of her cake and as soon as Ben's little hand got messy the tears came.  LOL

Beautiful family photography session...Lawrence, KS

These faces probably look familiar.  They can be seen throughout this blog because they are some of my "Memory Makers".  This is our third session of their "4 seasons" package and so far my favorite!  We weren't so sure it was even going to happen because we woke up to a rainy morning.  We had discussed several different locations for this shoot but with the rain coming and going my whole drive to Lawrence, we decided to  maybe just do the indoor cake smash sessions (see next post) and see what the weather was doing before we got too far from their home.  When I pulled into their drive the sun was shining and it revealed a PERFECT backyard for this session!  The kids were perfect, the yard was perfect, and I got to use my new prop chair which was also...perfect!  This was a good day! :)

Blue Springs Summer fun!

My daughter's BFF's mom wanted a session with her kiddos and we also wanted a session with our girls together since they were headed off to separate schools for kindergarten in the fall so we combined the two!  It was really, really hot and the girls got a little cranky, but you would never know it in these adorable shots.

Love in Lee's Summit

This was a long, hot day...but a beautiful one and a beautiful ceremony.  It was so much fun being a part of it all !

First wedding of the year

It's been a long, busy summer.  I have been trying to juggle an awful lot of balls at once and this blog was one ball that got dropped.  On the plus side, it has been a lot of fun to go back through sessions and look at some of my favorites again!  This was a beautiful spring wedding at Unity Village.
