Wild family session in Blue Springs, Mo.

What a fun family session! This family wanted a lot of fun, silly, and candid shots which inspired the title of this post somewhat, however we also had lots of "wild" visitors during this session including a deer, two baby bunnies, turkey, and a tick....ew. Country Wedding in Bushong, Kansas

You may recognize these faces and even the location of this wedding from my favorite engagement session so far.  The bride is my beautiful friend, Robyn and she put a lot of hard work and planning into making this country wedding amazing down to the smallest of details.  All of that work definitely paid off and it made my job as photographer easy!

Family Photos in Blue Springs, Mo.

This family session was scheduled shortly after I returned home from my own family photo session in Illinois. They were such a sweet and wonderful family...it was kind of like deja vu!  Some of them came in from out of town and they were all enjoying spending Mother's Day weekend together.  It looked like rain in the morning, but turned out to be a great day for photos!

Family photos...MY family!!

We spent this past weekend in Illinois to celebrate my in-laws retirement.  It was like a big slumber party with my whole gang, my sister-in-law, niece and nephew and grandma and grandpa all crashing under the same roof.  So much fun.  It is fairly rare for this whole group to be together at the same time so we made it a point to get some family photos.  Big thanks go out to Suzanne for helping out so I could actually be in a few photos (which rarely happens).  Minus the tick that I discovered the next day (the price of rustic country scenery I guess), it was a fun, time.

Oh, and this first photo is even more impressive when you take into consideration that it started out as just myself, Chad and our two kids trying to get a few family shots before we added the whole gang when suddenly my little Chase decided he was done with photos and signs of a tantrum started appearing.  Since we hadn't gotten a group photo yet I quickly shouted "EVERYONE RUN IN NOW!!! " and miraculously this is how everyone just kind of landed.  I don't think I could have planned the placement any better and everyone running towards us and jumping into the shot must have been amusing enough to even put a smile back on Chase's face.  :)
