It doesn't seem like all that long ago I was doing a beautiful maternity session with this mommy and little Silas made it easy to produce an equally beautiful newborn session! This little guy sure is loved by his mommy and daddy and is sooo adorable!

Blue Springs, Mo Boudoir Photographer: Another "J"
My first two boudoir clients are friends and came together and made a day (or two) of it. They shopped, went to their appointment with the hair stylist I'm working with and then came to the studio to meet up with the make-up artist I'm also working with (with a bottle of wine). These sessions were seriously so much fun and I am hoping to do many more of them in the future. It's so rewarding to see a woman transformed from a pretty mommy to a gorgeous, sexy, confident model. Anyway, as I got ready to post their blog posts, I realized both pretty ladies had the same first and last initials. Too funny. Isn't she BEAUTIFUL? ~Hair by: Misty Bush of The Color Crew ~Make-up by: Adrienne Patrick

Blue Springs, Mo Boudoir Photographer: "J"
It seems only appropriate that "J" be my first boudoir client. 3 years ago we met for the first time face to face when she asked me to take family photos for her. I was still "skill building" and mostly taking photos for friends at the time and was honored that she trusted me to photograph her beautiful family. Here is one of the photos from that day:
A lot has changed since then. Although I still think this is a lovely family photo, I look at it now and see things I would have done differently today which is a good thing. I plan to do the same thing with the photos I am taking today 3 years from now. Never stop growing and improving. "J" has made some changes too. She has since started her own photography business and is doing very well. She has also lost 100 pounds! When she saw I was trying to build my boudoir portfolio, she was excited to capture the beautiful new her and I'm so grateful that she once again trusted me to do this for her. Here she is now:

Blue Springs Baby Photographer: Charlee turns 1!
I photographed little Charlee and her beautiful family last summer and loved the results so much they are proudly displayed on a canvas in my studio so when her mommy contacted me to let me know Charlee was turning 1 I was SO excited! Turns out Charlee didn't quite share my enthusiasm about this session and wasn't really in the mood for photos but you would never know it by all of the great shots we got. When you are this cute I think the camera is your friend whether you like it or not.

Pleasant Hill Maternity Photographer: J&J's Reveal
This session was SO exciting (and challenging). This mommy and daddy-to-be had their Dr. put their baby's gender in a sealed envelope and I got to reveal to them what they were having! I love that they have this moment captured in photos. This proved to be more of a challenge than I could ever anticipate though. It was VERY windy which does not mix well with trying to shove a bunch of balloons into a flimsy and light cardboard box that kept trying to blow away (since I didn't know what they were having until I got there, I had both pink and blue balloons ready in the car so had to fill the box on site). I finally figured out to put my camera bag in the box to weigh it down, however that left less room for the balloons so when I finally got them all in, they were packed in pretty tight and ended up only coming out one or two at a time. That was probably a good thing though because otherwise the wind may have carried them off before I even got a chance to grab a shot of them! I can't wait to meet this little guy! Congratulations "J&J"!

Blue Springs, Mo Maternity Photographer: Sam
For whatever reason I haven't done many maternity sessions. I seem to always get them after they have entered the world, which is fun too, but I have been really wanting to try out some more beautiful belly shots. Samantha was the perfect model and definitely worth the wait. Baby Silas is one lucky little guy and has some pretty great parents waiting to meet him. I can't wait either!

Blue Springs, Mo Baby Photographer: Hadley, 3 Mos.
You might remember adorable little Hadley's newborn photos from what seems like a short time ago, but at just 3 months old she's a big girl now. Hadley is one of my "Memory Maker" babies and it is already so much fun to see how much she has changed between sessions. I can hardly wait to see her again at her 6 month shoot.

Independence, Mo Pet Photographer: G Dogs
I am still trying to find my niche' in the photography world and so for now I'm doing a little bit of everything. I haven't done a lot of pet photography in the past, but have always thought it would be fun. Nothing like jumping right in with a family that included 4 four-legged members. I love how they all showed me their individual personalities. Molly the lab, the youngest, was not only comfortable in front of the camera, but SO photogenic, a born model. Gracie, the beautiful Golden was happy to have company and very excited. Every time I squatted down to her level to try and get a shot of her, a big black nose would appear right in front of my lens. Poor Bonnie the Border Collie did NOT like the camera pointed at her and would run or hide behind her mama. Thank goodness for Frisbees! And Jack, the oldest lab seemed pleased to have a little extra attention. I'm not sure pet photography is my niche', and when I left this session I wasn't sure what I had gotten, but as I sat down and started editing, I was not only pleasantly surprised, but fell a little bit in love with these puppy faces.

Blue Springs, Mo Newborn Photographer: Baby G
This little guy could sleep! Just opened his gorgeous little peepers at the end to say "hello" before it was time to say "goodbye". :)

Blue Springs, Mo. Family Photographer: The E Family
This has become a favorite location of both mine and my clients this year. The scenery just couldn't be better and it's a fun and relaxing place to be and explore which helps with little ones that sometimes get bored with just me and my camera quickly.
There was a woman making holiday wreaths that I just had to capture:
...and a rooster (sometimes I get a little distracted).
and I run into this guy every time I do a session here so I though he should finally be included in one. :)
